Project Introduction
Rugby South Australia is establishing a new home for rugby in Adelaide through the development of a purpose-built High Performance & Community Centre. Located within a growing regional sport precinct, the facility is designed to support both elite and grassroots rugby pathways, combining training, education, administration, and community engagement under one roof.
Key Project Challenges
The facility needed to serve multiple user groups—elite athletes, community clubs, and regional development programs—within a modest budget and footprint. Balancing high-performance requirements with accessibility and community use was central to the design challenge, along with addressing staging and future expansion on a constrained greenfield site.
Key Project Innovations
The Rugby SA High Performance & Community Centre brings together high-performance training areas, flexible education spaces, match-day amenities, and administrative zones in a unified, adaptable layout. National benchmarking informed a tailored facility that reflects Rugby SA’s ambitions, while also promoting inclusivity and long-term growth of the sport in South Australia.
