Project Introduction

As one of Australia’s most successful rugby league clubs, Melbourne Storm continues to invest in its high-performance environment to maintain a competitive edge. The Melbourne Storm facility upgrades focus on enhancing key athlete spaces within the club’s headquarters at AAMI Park, including recovery zones, change rooms, and briefing areas.

Key Project Challenges

Working within an operational elite sports facility required careful planning to minimise disruption to daily training schedules. The upgrades also had to respond to existing spatial constraints and integrate seamlessly with the broader AAMI Park infrastructure, all while meeting evolving professional standards for athlete preparation and wellbeing.

Key Project Innovations

The design prioritised performance-led outcomes—creating tailored environments for recovery, tactical briefings, and team cohesion. Materials, lighting, and spatial configuration were carefully considered to support both physical and psychological readiness, reinforcing the club’s identity and high-performance culture.
