Project Introduction
The Bloom Prospect Road development is centred around an open-air courtyard that provides natural light and cross ventilation to assist with passive cooling to all apartments. The building’s appearance captures the spirit of the built fabric along Prospect Road via curved forms, materiality and palette, while distinctly separating the aesthetic between the retail interface and the residential space above.
Key Project Challenges
The project posed the challenge and opportunity to deliver an integrated development with the City of Prospect, and a mixed-use, high-quality building adjacent their new community library and civic office that would revitalise Prospect Road by providing ground level retail and commercial space.
Key Project Innovations
Bloom has been designed with a human-centric ethos that celebrates community and connection, providing places and spaces that allow for interaction, chance encounters, and community recreation – prioritising occupants and community. City Collective identified the gap in the housing market and addressed the current market mix by providing quality, medium density family living, with a vertical solution using the natural fall of land to address height requirements and increase density of the city fringe suburb.
