City Collective

Project Introduction

City Collective has been working with the Adelaide Football Club since 2016 to develop the Adelaide Aquatic Centre. This project was a key outcome of the Commonwealth Games Venue Master Plan undertaken by City Collective this project consists of the following key elements:

  • Builds upon an existing multi- sport park to deliver an expanded array of recreation uses.
  • Process is a collaborative multiple stakeholders approach with the Club, Council, Federal Government, community and school groups.
  • Indigenous culture represented throughout design and brief & a catalyst for improved well-being within community.

Key Project Challenges

Build consensus amongst a myriad of stakeholder to craft a bold new headquarters for the Adelaide FC while creating a open and welcoming experience for the community. The City of Adelaide & Adelaide FC is working collaboratively with City Collective to develop the master plan and concept design, including key community facilities, City Collective developed a brief that balanced the needs of Community, Club and Council while maintaining a strict budget.

Key Project Innovations

Engage and align Community, Council and Club project aspirations early, visualised within a concise Pitch Document presented to all stakeholders for approval. City Collective used many key strategies to engage the range of stakeholders. Collecting and consolidating all stakeholder groups aspirations allowed the team to present a concise list of priorities that all groups agree upon. A pitch document to seek additional funding was created using these newly developed project principles as a base. Ultimately the team successfully presented this document and received Federal and State funding.
